WALKING HOUSE is still in Copenhagen by the harbor. Its now walking perfectly after an upgrade of the computer software. You can see it walk here. Watch a time lapse video here. The very first steps can be watched here. Or read about it in Dwell magazine here.
In a couple of months it will travel to the Emscher Riverbank in Essen Germany, to participate in The European Capital of  Culture 2010. Sam Kronick will be living in the house and launch a new thing called nomadicfutures.n55.dk.

N55 in collaboration with Anne Romme will soon start prototyping a new building system called SPACEPLATES based on the geometry found in animal shells like the sea urchin. Its a low cost way of creating approximated double curved surfaces in a statically well defined way, minimizing the material use. When the system is ready, persons should be able to " print out" a SPACEPLATES construction ( a home, a greenhouse or a larger communal building), using materials like PC or aluminum and a CNC- router. (Even a small table version- cnc router will work).

The parts for constructing an outer shell for a building can be folded and connected using bolts and a sealant.

lattice structures forming structures like that are very well researched and understood. Plate based structures are not. Especially not when it comes to more freely formed, complex, tesselated shapes that are not plain domes. More about that soon. We have recently established a new workspace in Copenhagen with the necessary machinery for realizing future systems. 

COMMUNAL BAKERY ( manual will be available soon) was realized recently in Rotterdam.

We were asked to make two proposals for the European Capital of Culture 2010. Therefore we also developed a new thing called POWERSTATION. Due to the financial situation in Europe, the organizers where not able to raise the money for realizing POWERSTATION now. So we have to wait for another chance to make it happen.
